Facilities Our yard has recently gone through a multi-million dollar remediation and investment program including the installation of a state-of-the-art pressure wash facility and new shops that have been retooled with new tools and equipment. Our main boat sheds are state-of-the-art, climate-controlled, allowing us to service boats year-round. Equipment We manage and care for boats and yachts from simple dinghies rigged with an outboard to complex 60' sailing and power vessels. Our equipment includes a new remote controlled 55-ton travel lift, our 18,000 lb mobile boom truck crane, a 35-ton hydraulic trailer & truck, a 5 ton hydraulic trailer and truck (perfect for smaller outboard boats 17' to 30'), and a new fork lift. Mechanical Our three-man certified mechanical team is very experienced and enjoys an excellent reputation in both inboard and outboard systems. In addition to other certifications, Drew Melody, our Department Foreman, is one of only 60 Master Yamaha Mechanics in the nation. Our team remains current and up-to-date with evolving complex marine technologies through continual attendance to service schools annually. While our strengths lie in engine repowers, we are also experts in running gear service, systems upgrades, fuel systems, and bow thruster and windlass installations. Refinishing Our finish department is capable and recommended highly. We are capable of fabricating parts and molds, replacing bulkheads, and other significant challenges that comes our way. We always adhere to the highest industry standards whether we're installing custom navigational packages, updating wiring systems, or supplying power to systems throughout the vessel. We are a Master Raymarine dealer in addition to representing the industry's finest electronics from Garmin and other industry leaders. Carpentry We have a new carpentry shop outfitted with all new top of the line machinery. Our talented small crew manages projects from custom cabinetry to teak decking. Rigging We offer a full spectrum of services, including cleaning and servicing winches, replacing lifelines and running rigging, rewiring masts, and testing shrouds. We're always happy to make our services available. Sail Loft Located on site is the re-known Buzzards Bay loft of Doyle Sails featuring the work of Bill Ribar and his son, Doug. When you are at South Wharf you must pay a visit to Bill and his crew and experience their loft where they not only repair but build sails right on site! Doyle specializes in racing and cruising sails and Bill’s reputation for impeccable attention to detail, quality of constriction and application of the latest technology to sails has made Bill and his loft an icon in the industry and supplier of some of the world's most spectacular yachts. |
